Switch it on for a mailbox in Email Accounts, or for many at once from the bulk actions menu. The ramp only ever lowers a mailbox's own daily limit, so set that limit to 50 or more to follow it all the way up.
Gmail tells senders to "start with a low sending volume to engaged users, and slowly increase the volume over time" and to "avoid introducing sudden volume spikes" (Gmail sender guidelines, read on 3 August 2026). A ramp is that advice, applied for you every day.
Spreading 500 emails a day over ten mailboxes keeps every one of them inside the ramp.

Warm-up cannot rescue a domain that fails SPF, DKIM or DMARC.
Check the domain with the free domain health check before the first email, and send only to addresses that pass double verification. A young mailbox has no reputation to spend on bounces.
