T-Online SMTP, IMAP and POP3 settings
T-Online is the email service Deutsche Telekom runs for its @t-online.de addresses. A mail program does not take your Telekom Login password: you set a second, separate 'Passwort für E-Mail-Programme' and type that instead. Telekom documents only encrypted access, so every hostname in its server overview carries a secure prefix: secureimap.t-online.de, securepop.t-online.de and securesmtp.t-online.de.
For incoming mail, use the IMAP server secureimap.t-online.de on port 993, or POP3 at securepop.t-online.de on port 995. Pick the exact values from the tool above and copy them straight into your mail client.
Checked against T-Online's own documentation: homepagecenter.telekom.de. Ports and limits change, so check there too if something will not connect.

Set a password for email programs
Telekom keeps this password deliberately separate from the Telekom Login password used for the website, the Kundencenter and MagentaCLOUD. You create or reset it in the Telekom Kundencenter under your login data, or in the E-Mail Center under Einstellungen, Passwörter. Telekom asks that it differ from your Telekom Login password.

Enter the incoming server
IMAP is secureimap.t-online.de on port 993 with SSL/TLS. For POP3 it is securepop.t-online.de on port 995 with SSL/TLS.

Enter the outgoing server
SMTP is securesmtp.t-online.de on port 465 with SSL, which is what Telekom's own server overview lists. Switch on authentication for the outgoing server.

Use the full address as the username
The username is the whole address, for example name@t-online.de, and the password is the password for email programs, not the Telekom Login password.

Check the client and the OS speak TLS 1.2
Telekom states that the connection needs at least TLS 1.2, on the operating system as well as the mail client. An old machine can fail the handshake even when the mail program itself is current.

Which port should you use for T-Online?
SSL/TLS on 465 (recommended) or STARTTLS on 587.
STARTTLS
Starts as a plain connection, then upgrades to an encrypted one. The modern standard for sending.
SSL/TLS
Encrypted from the first byte. Widely supported and a good choice when 587 is blocked.
Plain SMTP
Meant for server-to-server relay. Home networks and cloud hosts block it, so do not use it to send from a client.
Why your T-Online connection is failing
The failures people actually hit with T-Online, and what fixes each one.
The website uses the Telekom Login password; mail programs need the separate Passwort für E-Mail-Programme. Create one in the Telekom Kundencenter or in the E-Mail Center under Einstellungen, Passwörter, then re-enter it in the client.
Telekom's own server overview documents only the encrypted hostnames: secureimap.t-online.de, securepop.t-online.de and securesmtp.t-online.de. The unprefixed names do still resolve in DNS, so a client may look like it is connecting and then fail on encryption or login. Type the secure names in.
Telekom publishes a separate relay host for that case, securesmtprelay.t-online.de, on port 465 with SSL or port 25 with TLS. Point the device at the relay rather than the client SMTP host.
Telekom requires TLS 1.2 or newer. Update the mail program, and if it still fails, update the operating system, because the TLS stack is often the part that is out of date.

Apple Mail
Telekom's own Apple Mail walkthrough has you type only the server names and your credentials, because Apple Mail picks the correct ports by itself with no further setting needed.
Sending cold email through T-Online
Per-account limits apply; Telekom throttles bulk sending. Your email password is usually not your Telekom customer-centre password: set a separate email password in the Kundencenter.

T-Online's outgoing (SMTP) server is securesmtp.t-online.de. Use port 587 (STARTTLS) or 465 (SSL/TLS). SSL/TLS on 465 (recommended) or STARTTLS on 587. Sign in with your full email address and password (or app password).
What is T-Online's IMAP or POP3 server?
T-Online's incoming IMAP server is secureimap.t-online.de on port 993 (SSL/TLS). If you prefer POP3, use securepop.t-online.de on port 995.
Which port should I use for T-Online?
Use port 587 with STARTTLS wherever it's offered, it's the modern standard for authenticated sending. Port 465 with SSL/TLS is a solid alternative. Avoid port 25, which most networks block for client sending. T-Online's recommended value is above.
Why won't my T-Online SMTP connection work?
Check authentication first: Your email password is usually not your Telekom customer-centre password: set a separate email password in the Kundencenter. No app password. Use the email password you set in the Telekom Kundencenter. Then confirm the host, port and security method match exactly, a 587/SSL or 465/STARTTLS mismatch will fail to connect.
Can I send bulk or cold email through T-Online?
Not at scale. Per-account limits apply; Telekom throttles bulk sending. Providers throttle bursts to fight spam, so pushing cold email through one mailbox hits limits and wrecks deliverability. High-volume outreach belongs on dedicated infrastructure that spreads sending across warmed inboxes, which is what Emailchaser does.

Old guides say imap.t-online.de. Should I use it?
No. Telekom's server overview lists only the secure hostnames: secureimap.t-online.de, securepop.t-online.de and securesmtp.t-online.de. The unprefixed names still resolve in DNS, which is why the old guides survive, but they are not what Telekom documents and Telekom now requires TLS 1.2 or newer on every connection. Use the secure names.
I want a device or my own server to send through Telekom. Which host do I use?
Not securesmtp.t-online.de. Telekom documents a separate relay, securesmtprelay.t-online.de, reachable on port 465 with SSL or port 25 with TLS. It is meant for a mail server or appliance rather than a desktop mail client, so a NAS or a scanner belongs there.
