Sky SMTP, IMAP and POP3 settings
Sky email is not run by Sky. It sits on Yahoo's mail platform and is branded Sky Yahoo Mail, so the help articles live on Yahoo's UK site in a Sky section. That split shows up in the settings: Sky's IMAP page gives imap.mail.yahoo.com while its POP page gives pop.tools.sky.com and smtp.tools.sky.com. Outside apps need a generated app password rather than your Sky sign-in.
For incoming mail, use the IMAP server imap.tools.sky.com on port 993, or POP3 at pop.tools.sky.com on port 995. Pick the exact values from the tool above and copy them straight into your mail client.

Create an app password first
Go to sky.com/sky-yahoo-mail/manage-apps, or the Sky Yahoo Account Security page at login.yahoo.com/account/security, and pick Create app password under External connections.

Use a browser you already sign into Sky Yahoo with
Sky says to use a browser you have signed into for several days in a row and to avoid Incognito mode, otherwise the app password will not generate.

Set incoming to IMAP on port 993 with SSL
Sky's IMAP settings article lists imap.mail.yahoo.com on port 993 with SSL required.

Set outgoing to SMTP on port 465 with SSL
Sky's POP settings article lists smtp.tools.sky.com on port 465 or 587, SSL on, authentication required. Its IMAP article lists smtp.mail.yahoo.com for the same job.

Username is the full address, for example name@sky.com. You enter the app password once per app and Sky remembers it.

Which port should you use for Sky?
SSL/TLS on 465, the only sending port Sky publishes.
STARTTLS
Sky does not offer STARTTLS on this service. Use the SSL/TLS port instead.
SSL/TLS
Encrypted from the first byte. Widely supported and a good choice when 587 is blocked.
Plain SMTP
Meant for server-to-server relay. Home networks and cloud hosts block it, so do not use it to send from a client.
Why your Sky connection is failing
The failures people actually hit with Sky, and what fixes each one.
Sky documents two sets: imap.mail.yahoo.com and smtp.mail.yahoo.com on its IMAP page, pop.tools.sky.com and smtp.tools.sky.com on its POP page. If one set is rejected, enter the other.
Sky says an unverified email address on the account can cause a 553 error when sending from a third party app. Verify or remove the extra address in your Sky Yahoo account settings, then send again.
Sky says to use a browser you have signed into Sky Yahoo with for several days running and not Incognito. If it still fails, Sky's fallback is to use webmail or the Sky Yahoo app instead.
App passwords survive a main password change by design. To cut an app off you have to delete its app password on the Account Security page under External connections.
Sky's advice is to keep the number of devices pulling from IMAP limited and current. An out of date app typically shows 'Server password has changed' or 'Authentication failed'.
Sky publishes a separate download host for this, export.imap.mail.yahoo.com on port 993 with SSL, and warns that folders holding 100,000 or more emails may still have trouble downloading in full.
Sky sending limits
Sky states it does not disclose how many recipients or emails you can send at once; when you trip a limit the notification tells you how long to wait.

Apple Mail
Sky lists 'Apple Mail SMTP is offline' as its own named send error, separate from the generic ones on its send errors page.
Outlook
Sky lists 'Outlook error message 553' by name, and its client troubleshooting ties 553 to an unverified email address on the account rather than to Outlook itself.
Sending cold email through Sky
Per-account daily caps apply. Sky Mail is powered by Yahoo, so third-party clients usually need an app password rather than your Sky iD password.

What are Sky's SMTP settings?
Sky's outgoing (SMTP) server is smtp.tools.sky.com. Use port 465 (SSL/TLS). SSL/TLS on 465, the only sending port Sky publishes. Sign in with your full email address and password (or app password).
What is Sky's IMAP or POP3 server?
Sky's incoming IMAP server is imap.tools.sky.com on port 993 (SSL/TLS). If you prefer POP3, use pop.tools.sky.com on port 995.
Which port should I use for Sky?
Use port 587 with STARTTLS wherever it's offered, it's the modern standard for authenticated sending. Port 465 with SSL/TLS is a solid alternative. Avoid port 25, which most networks block for client sending. Sky's recommended value is above.
Why won't my Sky SMTP connection work?
Check authentication first: Sky Mail is powered by Yahoo, so third-party clients usually need an app password rather than your Sky iD password. Generate one from your Sky Yahoo Mail account security settings. Then confirm the host, port and security method match exactly, a 587/SSL or 465/STARTTLS mismatch will fail to connect.
Can I send bulk or cold email through Sky?
Not at scale. Per-account daily caps apply. Providers throttle bursts to fight spam, so pushing cold email through one mailbox hits limits and wrecks deliverability. High-volume outreach belongs on dedicated infrastructure that spreads sending across warmed inboxes, which is what Emailchaser does.

Do I need an app password if I have not turned on two step verification?
Yes. Both of Sky's server settings articles put 'Generate App Password' in the password field with no condition attached to it, so an app password is simply what Sky expects any outside app to use. Sky's app password article does not tie the requirement to Account Key or two step verification either way.
Can I have Sky mail on several devices at once?
