The 8 Best Email Lookup Tools in 2026

An email lookup tool takes a person's name and company and returns their email address. These are the eight we would shortlist, compared on how you start free, what you pay when you want more and whether the address is checked before you get it.

Updated 5 November 2026

The short answer

Emailchaser is our pick. Its free email finder gives 3 searches a day with no signup, builds 12 or more likely addresses for a name and company and asks the company's mail server which mailbox is real, then lists every address it checked.

Hunter, Snov.io, GetProspect and VoilaNorbert give a free allowance every month. Anymail Finder charges only for verified finds, and Wiza and RocketReach sell flat yearly plans that add phone numbers.

Email lookup tools find an address in three different ways, and the way decides what you pay for.

Name and company

Emailchaser, Hunter, Anymail Finder and VoilaNorbert take a person's name and their company's website and return the address.

Bulk lists

GetProspect, Snov.io and Wiza turn a whole list of names, or a search, into addresses in one run.

Contact databases

RocketReach looks the person up in its own database, so it can add direct phone numbers to the email.

Look up one person's work email in four steps.

  1. TypeEnter the first name, the last name and the company's website, or paste a LinkedIn profile link.
  2. WaitThe finder builds the likely addresses and asks the company's mail server which mailbox exists.
  3. ReadA Verified address was confirmed by the mail server, and a Likely one passed the catch-all check.
  4. UseCopy the address, or add the person to a campaign in the same account.

If you already have the address and need the person, a reverse email lookup goes the other way.

We compared them on five things that decide how useful a lookup is.

  • How you search: name and company, a list, a LinkedIn profile or a database.
  • Whether you can try it free every month or every day, and without signing up.
  • What a paid plan costs and how the credits are counted.
  • Whether you pay when a search finds nothing.
  • Whether the same account verifies the address and sends the email.

These are the eight email lookup tools worth a look in 2026.

Our pick for a work email from a name and companyOUR PICK

1. Emailchaser finds a work email from a name and a company for free and checks the mailbox before it shows you.

3 free searches a dayNo signupEvery address checked live

Type a first name, a last name and a company website into Emailchaser's free email finder. It builds 12 or more likely addresses, asks the company's mail server whether each mailbox exists and shows the one that is real, marked Verified, or Likely on a catch-all domain.

  • Every result lists every address it checked, and no email is ever sent to any of them.
  • Emailchaser found 88 of 100 contacts in our August 2026 test versus 67 for Hunter, searching the same 100 people in each.
  • The LinkedIn tab takes a profile link instead of a name and company, with its own 3 free lookups a day.
  • The same account verifies lists, exports whole searches with Lead Finder and sends the campaign.

People ask these questions about email lookup tools.

What is the best email lookup tool in 2026?

For a work email from a name and a company we pick Emailchaser: 3 free searches a day with no signup, 12 or more likely addresses built and checked with the company's mail server, and every address it checked listed on the result. Emailchaser found 88 of 100 contacts in our August 2026 test versus 67 for Hunter. Hunter, Snov.io, GetProspect and VoilaNorbert are the other tools with a free allowance.

Is there a free email lookup tool?

Yes. Emailchaser gives 3 free searches a day with no signup. Hunter has 50 free credits a month, Snov.io's free plan renews every month with 50 credits, GetProspect's free plan has 50 valid emails a month and RocketReach gives 5 free lookups.

How do I look up someone's email address from their name?

Enter their first name, their last name and their company's website into an email lookup tool. It builds the likely addresses in the formats companies use and checks which one is a real mailbox. A name alone is not enough, because a work address depends on the company's mail domain.

What is the difference between an email lookup and a reverse email lookup?

They go in opposite directions. An email lookup starts with a person's name and company and finds their address. A reverse email lookup starts with an address and finds the person behind it. Emailchaser's free tools do both.

How can I tell if a found email address is real?

Check that the tool asked the company's mail server whether the mailbox exists. Emailchaser marks an address Verified when the server confirmed it, and Likely when the company's server accepts mail for every address and the address passed the catch-all check. It lists every address it checked.

Can I look up an email from a LinkedIn profile?

Yes. Paste the profile link into the LinkedIn tab of Emailchaser's finder and you get the person's work email, job title and company, with 3 free lookups a day. The best LinkedIn email finder tools guide compares more options.

How much does an email lookup tool cost?

It can be free. Emailchaser, Hunter, Snov.io, GetProspect and VoilaNorbert all start free. Paid options from the vendors' own pages: Anymail Finder $29 a month for 400 credits, Snov.io $39 a month, Hunter, GetProspect and VoilaNorbert $49 a month, Wiza $49 a month for 100 valid emails and RocketReach $27 a month billed yearly. Emailchaser's plans start at $47 a month and include the sender.

Can I find someone's personal Gmail address with an email lookup tool?

Not reliably. Work emails follow company patterns such as first.last@company.com, but personal addresses follow none, so a tool that promises them is usually serving old data. For outreach, the work email is the one you want.

In problematic situations, and And what it can do and cannot so from the start, I have more trust. There’s nothing worse for a user than what Smartlead does: lots of great features that don’t really work, including crucial ones for a sequencer like auto fallback to connected accounts when account gets disconnected (doesn’t have to get back to the original one after reconnection, no one expects miracles, just a solid infra delivering on its specs - not promises), plus their low quality support when the issues are revealed.”
