The 8 Best Email Verification Tools in 2026
A list full of dead addresses bounces, and bounces hurt the inbox you send from. These are the eight email verifiers we would shortlist, compared on what a thousand checks cost, how they treat unknown results, how you can try them and what they do beyond checking.
Updated 3 November 2026
Emailchaser is our pick for cold email teams. A second, independent provider checks again every address the first one does not reject, a thousand checked addresses cost $1.70 to $3.40 in checks, and you can try it free: 3 checks a day with no signup.
ZeroBounce is the one to look at when you clean very large lists and want unknown results free. NeverBounce, Emailable and Bouncer are simple pay-as-you-go verifiers that do nothing else.

Here is how the eight tools compare at a glance.
| # | Tool | Smallest paid option | Per 1,000 addresses | Unknown results | Free start | Sends email too |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | $0.0017 a check, on a plan from $47 a month | $1.70 to $3.40 | Shown as unknown, check again later | 3 checks a day, no signup | Yes | |

A thousand checked addresses cost $1.70 to $3.40 on Emailchaser.
Emailchaser's range is one check an address to two, and its checks bill on top of a plan from $47 a month. DeBounce shows its prices only in a calculator, so it has no bar. Lower is better.
A verifier gives one of four answers, and each one needs a different move.
The mailbox exists and accepts email. Send.
The domain accepts every address, so no server can prove this mailbox exists. Send in small batches and watch the bounces.
The mailbox does not exist or cannot receive email. Remove it before you send.
The mail server did not answer in time, often on purpose. It is not a bad address: check it again later.
These are the four answers Emailchaser's checker gives. Other tools name them differently.
We compared them on five things that decide the bounce rate and the bill.
- Cost per 1,000 addresses at the smallest paid option, so the numbers can be compared.
- What happens to unknown results: whether they use a credit.
- How you can try it free, and how much of a list the free start covers.
- How a list runs: a CSV upload for one-off lists, and an API or an integration to verify inside your sending tool.
- What else the same account does, such as finding leads or sending the campaign.
Every figure below comes from the vendor's own pages, read on 3 November 2026.
These are the eight email verification tools worth a look in 2026.
1. Emailchaser has a second, independent provider check what the first one lets through.
Emailchaser's email verifier checks the format, the mail server and the mailbox itself. A second, independent provider then checks again every address the first one does not reject. Each address comes back deliverable, risky, undeliverable or unknown, and nothing is ever sent to it.
- Free to try: 3 checks a day with no signup. The 7-day free trial verifies 100 addresses from a list.
- $0.0017 per provider check, and an address takes 1 or 2: $1.70 to $3.40 for 1,000 addresses. Checks bill on top of any plan, from $47 a month.
- Paid plans verify up to 50,000 addresses in one job.
- Half of free checks answer in 7 seconds or less (118 checks, 2 to 5 October 2026).
- The same plan finds leads (1,500 lead credits a month on Starter) and sends the campaign, so a list goes from verified to sent without leaving the tool.
Best for: Cold email teams that want to verify, find and send in one place.
2. ZeroBounce never charges for unknown results.
ZeroBounce uses one credit per address verified, and its pricing page says it will never charge for unknown results. It sells pay-as-you-go packs and a monthly ZeroBounce ONE subscription.
- $39 for 2,000 credits is the smallest pay-as-you-go purchase.
- ZeroBounce ONE starts at $99 a month for 10,000 credits, and credits never expire while the subscription is active.
- A free plan gives 100 validation credits that refill every month.
- Our ZeroBounce pricing guide lists its pay-as-you-go and monthly prices in full.
Best for: Teams that verify very large lists and want unknown results free.
3. NeverBounce sells credits from $8 for 1,000.
NeverBounce sells pay-as-you-go credit packs and a monthly Growth subscription. Its pricing page says you can verify your first list free, with no credit card.
- Pay as you go: 1,000 credits for $8 and 5,000 for $40. Credits expire 12 months after purchase.
- Growth, the monthly plan, starts at $49 a month for up to 10,000 addresses.
- Its pricing page does not say whether unknown results use credits.
- Our NeverBounce pricing guide lists its packs and plans in full.
Best for: Teams that clean a list now and then and prefer to pay per pack.
4. Emailable returns credits for unknown results and duplicates.
Emailable charges one credit per verification, whether through a bulk upload, the verifier, the API or its widget, and gives the credits back for unknown results and duplicates when your list finishes.
- 5,000 credits for $38 is the smallest pack ($0.0076 a credit), and credits never expire.
- 250 free credits to test a sample of a list.
- Its pricing page lists SOC 2 Type II certification and GDPR compliance.
Best for: Teams that want one job done, verification, with credits that never expire.
5. Bouncer does not bill for unknown results or duplicates.
Bouncer sells verification credits in packs and says it does not bill for duplicate addresses in your list or for unknown results. It also sells a separate deliverability kit that tests where your mail lands.
- 1,000 credits for $8 and 5,000 for $35, and purchased credits never expire.
- 100 free credits to start, with no credit card.
- The Deliverability Kit, a separate product, starts at $25 a month for 250 test emails.
Best for: Teams that want packs that never expire and free unknown results.
6. DeBounce credits never expire and duplicates are free.
DeBounce sells credits in packs from 5,000 to 5,000,000 with no monthly payments, and its pricing page says you never pay for duplicates. It shows its prices in a calculator rather than in a table.
- One credit per validation. A deeper catch-all validation costs 10 credits per address.
- 100 free credits, with no credit card.
- A pay-as-you-go and a monthly option sit behind the same calculator.
Best for: Teams that want to size a pack in a calculator and keep the credits.
7. Hunter verifies at half a credit inside its finder plans.
Hunter sells verification inside its credit plans: one credit finds one email and half a credit verifies one, so a plan's credits stretch twice as far on checks.
- Starter is $49 a month for 2,000 credits, which is 4,000 verifications.
- The free plan gives 50 credits a month, which is 100 verifications.
- Every plan includes unlimited team members, and Starter connects 3 mailboxes for its sequences.
- Our Hunter pricing guide prices every plan against Emailchaser.
Best for: Teams that already find addresses with Hunter and want checks in the same credits.
8. Snov.io charges a credit for valid and unknown results but not for invalid ones.
Snov.io sells email finding, verification and cold email sending in one suite, billed in credits. Its help center says one credit is charged for each address verified valid and for each one it could not fully verify, and nothing for an invalid address.
- Starter is $39 a month for 1,000 credits, and the same credits pay for its finder.
- A free trial plan renews every 30 days with 50 credits. Bulk verification is not in the trial.
- Pro plans run from $99 a month for 5,000 credits.
- Our Snov.io pricing guide prices every plan against Emailchaser.
Best for: Teams that already use Snov.io's finder and sender.
Clean a list in five steps before you send.

- VerifyRun every address through the verifier, just before the first send.

People ask these questions about email verification tools.
What is the best email verification tool in 2026?
For cold email teams we pick Emailchaser: a second, independent provider checks again every address the first one does not reject, 1,000 addresses cost $1.70 to $3.40 in checks, and the same plan finds leads and sends the campaign. ZeroBounce suits very large lists, and NeverBounce, Emailable and Bouncer are simple pay-as-you-go verifiers.
Is there a free email verification tool?
Yes. Emailchaser's email checker gives 3 free checks a day with no signup, and its 7-day free trial verifies 100 addresses from a list. ZeroBounce gives 100 free credits a month, Emailable 250 free credits, and Bouncer and DeBounce 100 free credits each. Hunter's free plan has 50 credits a month, which is 100 verifications.
How much does it cost to verify 1,000 email addresses?
At each tool's smallest paid option: $1.70 to $3.40 on Emailchaser in checks (the plan it bills on starts at $47 a month), $7.60 on Emailable, $8 on NeverBounce and Bouncer, $12.25 on Hunter, $19.50 on ZeroBounce and $39 on Snov.io. Prices are read from each vendor's own pages between 22 October and 3 November 2026.
What does a risky or catch-all result mean?
A catch-all domain accepts mail for every address, so no verifier can prove one mailbox exists. The address may be fine or may bounce later, so send to risky addresses in a small batch first and watch the bounce rate.
How accurate are email verifiers?
No verifier can prove a mailbox on a catch-all domain, and some mail servers delay their answers on purpose, which is why a good verifier answers with four results instead of yes or no. We did not run an accuracy test for this guide, so we left every vendor's own accuracy claim out.
How often should I verify my list?
Verify right before the first send, and again before you reuse an older list. People change jobs and companies close mailboxes, so an address that was good when you collected it may not be good now.
What is the difference between an email verifier, an email checker and an email validator?
In practice the three names describe the same job: finding out whether an address can receive email. A validator is sometimes only a format check, so look for a tool that also checks the mail server and the mailbox.
Does verifying an email address notify the person?
Not with Emailchaser: checking an address never sends that person an email. The check talks to the mail server and the providers, and nothing is delivered to the mailbox.

“Btw thanks for your continuous help, best support ever! It means a lot as when I understand how the tool works, esp. In problematic situations, and And what it can do and cannot so from the start, I have more trust. There’s nothing worse for a user than what Smartlead does: lots of great features that don’t really work, including crucial ones for a sequencer like auto fallback to connected accounts when account gets disconnected (doesn’t have to get back to the original one after reconnection, no one expects miracles, just a solid infra delivering on its specs - not promises), plus their low quality support when the issues are revealed.”
“Got my first reply with Emailchaser :)”
“We've recently upgraded to the premium plan to increase our sending volume. Just wanted to say thanks for such an awesome platform and the support you've already given in getting us started.”
